Steering Committee formed
Community volunteers began shaping the association’s purpose, governance and regional focus.
Inaugural Board established
The first Board of Directors took responsibility for accountable leadership and organizational development.
Federal incorporation
UCSWO became a formally incorporated Canadian non-profit association.
Community launch and first General Assembly
Members gathered to celebrate a shared beginning and affirm a community-led future.
Regional and diplomatic engagement
UCSWO strengthened relationships in London, Ottawa and across Southwestern Ontario.

The official launch celebrated culture, service, family and the collective responsibility to build a strong community.
Regional collaboration
Coming together for Africa Day in London.
During the commemoration of Africa Day at Western University in London, UCSWO Board Directors met members of the Ugandan Community London Ontario Association (UCLOA), who had welcomed the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Uganda High Commission in Ottawa. The occasion strengthened relationships among Ugandans in the region and supported dialogue on collaboration, belonging and community development.
